JAL has developed and launched the “JAL STAR PASSPORT”, a product designed to bring the experience of space travel closer to everyday life by allowing customers to visit various space-related facilities throughout Japan.

With the JAL STAR PASSPORT, travelers can collect “Space Stamps”, special commemorative seals available at each participating facility, as a record of their journey, much like “goshuin” collected at Japanese temples and shrines.

By collecting a certain number of these stamps, participants can receive exclusive space-themed rewards, making the product a symbolic bridge between life on Earth and experiences connected to space.

<Special Campaign>

As part of the first campaign, JAL is conducting a mission to send a special spave passport designed by JAL with selected customer’s name to the International Space Station (ISS).  It has been delivered to the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo”, where it receives a commemorative stamp exclusive to space before returning to Earth and will be given to the customer.

<Year-round campaign>

This campaign has launched on October 31st, 2025.

By purchasing a STAR PASSPORT and “Space Stamps” from five different stores, you can apply to receive an exclusive JAL’s original item that faithfully replicated JAL’s in-flight paper cup in ceramic form.
Please visit the JAL STAR PASSPORT official website for more details.

Japan Tobacco Inc.(JT) D-LAB

Projects

JAL participates in “THINK SPACE LIFE”, a business co-creation platform designed to improve quality of life both in space and on Earth by addressing the challenges of living in space.

Inspired by issues encountered in space environments such as the International Space Station (ISS), this demonstration experiment focused on evaluating the effectiveness of “Chupica”, a tablet-type toothpaste and mouthwash product developed by JT.

JAL verified its practicality under closed environments with limited water resources, such as onboard aircraft, as well as during overseas operations in different environmental conditions, exploring its potential applications for daily life on Earth. The study aimed to assess the usability of “Chupica” and apply the findings to further product improvement and development.

Tenchijin Inc.

Projects

Tenchijin Inc. is a JAXA-certified space venture that provides a range of services using “Tenchijin Compass,” a platform that leverages satellite big data and AI to evaluate and visualize land value.

In December 2023, JALUX entered into a capital and business alliance with Tenchijin to collaborate on expanding the reach and applications of the Tenchijin Compass. Drawing on its broad business expertise and resources, JALUX is working to promote the sales and business development of Tenchijin Compass across various sectors.

Additionally, JALUX has signed a sales agency agreement for “KnoWaterleak,” a service that uses satellite data to assess water pipe leakage risks, and is actively working to expand its deployment to municipalities nationwide.
